We didn't get a chance to hit Fry's and Safeway until March 20, the first day of Spring. We walked in and out of Food City without spending so much as a cent. And we spent $10 last Wednesday at Basha's and saved $10. (Forgot to save receipt.)
We didn't buy anything at Food City because the red onions were HUGE and the red peppers were TINY. We're well stocked on canned beans and salsa so we really didn't actually need any more of those two items.
Tuesday, we will be exercising the Basha's coupons for Wild Mike's Pizza and the frozen fish. That will be an expenditure of $7 and it will be interesting to see what the "official" savings turns out to be. Anyway, tomorrow's expenditure will raise our weekly total food cost to $53.87 and we have enough of a cushion right now (roughly $5) to fully expect to have saved 50% overall this week.
Hopefully, we can get the writeups cranked out Tuesday BEFORE the weekly ads actually become effective. Thanks for reading & Happy Shopping!
