The Freddie Ad Sunday had some nice things in it. We were gone a good part of the weekend so I didn't have time to post up here. The best deal is navel oranges @ 3 lbs. for a dollar. Some stores are still charging almost a buck a pound! They are good oranges. Susun grew up in Mesa, Arizona, which was once Navel Orange Ground Zero and if she says they are OK, then, trust me, they are OK!
You can get a real nice big fat roasting chicken at Freddie for $4-5. They are BIG chickens! It's a good deal. There's really nothing else happening at Freddies.
Albertson's ad this week rates a zero again. There's nothing to go there for, unless 49 cent Kraft macaroni & cheese floats your boat. Each week, Albertson's ad sinks lower into a worthless abyss. It's very sad.
Smith's ad is pretty good this week. I'd rate it on the high side of 5, maybe as high as 6. Here are all the things that area a dollar: half gallon orange juice, seedless grapes in all three colors, cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs, roma tomatoes, head lettuce and chicken thighs. Milk is 1.89. Sliced white mushrooms are $1.49 for a half pound. That's about as soon a selection as Smith's has had in quite awhile. This is the first time I've seen eggs at a buck in a Long, Long Time!
Nothing much is happening at WINCO except for one thing--there are some new turkey sausages and their flavoring is awesome. They even have one in chipotle flavor! WOW! Well, normally, these packages of five sausages are priced at $3.22 each. The other stores often sell them for $4.99--highway robbers that they are. Get this--WINCO's price right now is $2.08!!!! No, they aren't going out of code--they aren't even CLOSE to code date. They are simply running these puppies out the door to test the market--that's my theory. We tried the chipotle last night and they were awesome! It's worth a trip to WINCO just to pick up a couple pkgs. of these puppies.
My next update will be on Sunday.
